Vintage Ornate Trinket Box

Beautiful vintage Japanese decorative trinket or jewelry box featuring an elaborate raised floral and scrollwork design throughout. The shaped lid is especially detailed, with openwork-style ornamentation over a rich red background, dimensional roses, beaded borders, and a central heart-shaped medallion depicting a woman in profile.

The sides continue the ornate floral, leaf and lattice decoration, and the box rests on four small decorative feet. The hinged lid opens to reveal a vivid red velvet-lined interior, making it ideal for jewelry, keepsakes, rings or other small treasures. It does show signs of wear inside as one would expect from a vintage find.
