Rare Vintage REINAD Rhinestone Alligator Crocodile Figural Brooch – Signed

Wonderful and unusual vintage REINAD figural alligator/crocodile brooch, featuring a whimsical upright or “dancing” pose in gold-tone metal accented with sparkling clear rhinestones.

The alligator features an elongated rhinestone-set head, dimensional angular legs and a dramatically curled rhinestone tail. Measuring approximately 1½–1¾ inches, it is a small but exceptionally characterful example of vintage figural costume jewelry.

Most importantly, the reverse is clearly signed “Reinad” in script, as shown in the photographs. Reinad was an American costume-jewelry manufacturer particularly associated with collectible jewelry of the 1940s and 1950s.

This particular upright alligator design appears to be quite scarce. Despite researching Reinad alligator, crocodile and animal figural jewelry, I have not located another example of this exact design. That does not establish it as unique, but it certainly makes it an intriguing piece for the serious Reinad or vintage figural-jewelry collector.

Clear rhinestones remain set throughout the head and curled tail. Gold-tone finish shows age-appropriate wear and patina consistent with vintage jewelry. Original pin mechanism is present on the reverse. Please examine photographs for exact condition.
