Vintage MCM Viking Art Glass Cobalt Blue Mushroom Paperweight

Striking vintage art glass mushroom paperweight featuring a rich cobalt/bluenique blue color and classic Mid-Century Modern form. The piece has a broad, flattened mushroom cap over a thick rounded stem, with beautiful depth and translucence that changes dramatically depending on the lighting.

The underside of the cap features the characteristic radiating/ribbed texture associated with vintage Viking Glass mushroom paperweights, while the base has a polished pontil area. Based on the form, construction, and comparable examples, this appears consistent with Viking Art Glass, which introduced its mushroom line in 1969 and produced blue examples throughout the 1970s.
