Vintage Virgin Mary Our Lady of Peace Portable Catholic Travel Shrine – Angels & Prayer

Beautiful vintage Catholic devotional travel shrine featuring the Virgin Mary surrounded by two kneeling angels within an ornate Gothic-inspired architectural frame. The ivory-colored shrine and angels are accented in gold and housed inside a soft blue hinged protective case.

The inside cover carries a moving Marian prayer beginning “Holy Virgin in the midst of your glorious days, do not forget the sadness of the world…” and concluding “Give us the hope of peace. Amen.” The prayer is associated with 19th-century French priest Henri Perreyve and has also been published as a Prayer to Our Lady of Peace.

The exterior is simply decorated with a gold cross-and-circle emblem, allowing the case to resemble a small devotional book when closed.

Measures approximately 4” tall × 3” wide when closed. Vintage condition with expected surface wear, light scratches and age-related discoloration visible in the photographs. A wonderful piece of mid-century Catholic devotional history and an especially attractive example of a portable home or travel shrine.
